The song can't seem to grow on me, but the video sure has. This is the most joyous video I've seen in a long time. Nowadays music videos are dry and boring and repetitive. It's never about fun. But this video looks like it was tons of fun to make. Homegirl is playing a piano in the desert! Desert + Sunset + Rain + Mud = FUN! The dancing was interesting and I loveeee that purple one piece she's wearing at the end of the video.

PS. For a split second I thought she was Beyonce hehe

HAVE I EVER MENTIONED HOW MUCH I HATE DOING LAUNDRY?

Laundry is probably the most annoying and time-consuming domestic activity in the universe. 1 hour to wash, 1 hour to dry, 30 minutes to fold, 15 minutes to put away everything. Two hours and 45 minutes of my precious life taken away from me sitting and waiting for time to past.

Me and Big Sis are out for oh-ten (2010). We both need it! Sis is in law school, has an internship, AND works full-time. Me? I've just allowed New York City to eat me alive and I need a break. I just want to lay out in the sun all day with a bay breeze in my hand, eat maaaaaad seafood, and buy cool/funky jewelery from the marketplaces. Boy I can not wait to step foot on Bahamian grounds.

A few days ago they were airing "I Think I Love My Wife" on tv, so I watched it twice in a row. I had to. The message behind it is undeniable. The movie is pretty much about a married man who questions whether he loves his wife or not after having a fling with an old friend from high school. Richard Cooper (played by Chris Rock) has a fling with Nikki Tru (played by Kerry Washington) after his marriage loses it's "magic". In Nikki he finds his youth again. [My favorite part is when they throw money out of his office window and watch people try to grab it.......hilarious haha] The fling for the most part remains platonic with some flirting here and there. Then I started thinking to myself "Hey, that sounds like me". I'm a Nikki Tru and I'm not ashamed of it. I am never the wife and I've come to realize that that's not necessarily a negative thing. I'm too free-spirited to be "the wife". Men turn to me when things in their relationships get dry and I provide them with something "new". It's never a sexual exchange. More like moral support? No mistress/other woman over here. Well in the end Richard Copper goes back to his wife and Nikki Tru gets married to a realtor. Hey, you can't be the new thing forever.

I was watching this episode on tv today and nearly balled my eyes out. What an awesome moment. She was so calm. Birth is beautiful!!! I can't wait to hold my child for the first time.
