Last night 5 people were stabbed at Club Deco. I'm stunned because not only have I lived walking distance for 2 years, but I was just clubbing there not too long ago. I used to think I lived in the safest part of nyc because its filled with these rich yuppies who buy tons of furniture from Crate & Barrel living in their million dollar penthouses in Soho and Tribeca, but downtown Manhattan just isn't safe anymore. Lower Manhattan actually has a history of violence dated back to the late 70s.
