I am so fascinated with her story. The way she lived and died is so intriguing to me. If you're not familiar with her, she was a poet turned victim of suicide. She started out writing poetry and became famous for writing a book called "The Bell Jar" which was about a girl who had a mental breakdown while interning at a fashion magazine. In reality, it was a tell-all to Plath's own mental breakdown. Plath was known to be one of the first confessional poets. Confessional poets use poetry to express their deepest, darkest and often embarrassing details of their sexuality, ill feelings towards other people, desire to hurt other people and illness. Rumor is that her mental breakdown was the result of her husband cheating on her. She committed suicide by putting her head in an oven with the gas turned on. Her death has been considered to be a curse because not long after her death, her husband committed suicide too. The women he cheated with murdered her daughter and committed suicide as well and last week Sylvia Plath's son committed suicide by hanging himself. I thought shit like this only happened in movies.
